Here are just a few of the things we have done or are doing through the store! There is plenty that is not listed and much more to come in the future! Stay Tuned!
In Loving Memory of
Charles Joseph "Tuna" Evancevich
July 21, 1959-October 9, 2020
Chucky spent his life devoted to his family, friends and community! He always told his kids to prioritize their education and get involved in anyway they can.
Whenever my dad found out that there was a student who could not afford to be in sports or activities, my mom and dad would pay for their fees, transportation, equipment costs, etc. We are starting a scholarship to do what he did so many times while he was alive.
Please help us keep his memory and legacy alive so he can continue to impact lives for generations to come!
This scholarship will support low income Iron Range Youth who cannot afford to be in sports or activities. The funds will pay for fees, equipment costs, transportation costs and any other expenses incurred.

Northern-Frontiers Thrift is receiving a rather large donation this Saturday and we need time to get through all the donations and get it organized. At this time, we are putting all donations on hold until after labor day.
(Day to be announced).
We have received pretty much everything we need. If you have extra camping supplies, we would be open to taking it as the families we are working with are still camping and could use more supplies.
Please call the store prior to donating please 218-827-0777
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE ITEMS WE CANNOT TAKE!
Mattresses, box springs, and pillows.
Please do not bring us furniture. We simply do not have the space for it. Instead, you can bring us pictures or email pictures to:
We will provide pictures to those who need furniture and we will make arrangements once they have picked what they want. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we just don't have a lot of space to work with.
Thanks to our wonderful communities, we have raised just over $400 for the victims of the Greenwood Fire!
We are continuing to collect any financial donations.
You can donate in 1 of 3 ways:
1. There is an account set up at the Ely Area Credit Union under Northern-Frontiers Thrift Business account.
2. There is a Fireman's Piggy Bank next to the register at the store and you can put any donations in there.
3. You can donate via GoFundMe at the link: https://gofund.me/160759ed
Please let us know how we can help.
We will do whatever we can within our means!

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Department and Lake County Sheriff's Department, Babbitt Police, Babbitt Fire, and Babbitt EMS and Ely Police, Ely Fire and Ely EMS.
Unfortunately, Due to COVID, the dinner had to be cancelled.
Instead, we used the funds donated to the dinner to issue a $15 gift certificate to Kell's Kitchen to each first responder.
There were a total of 107 between the 8 departments.
We collected enough prizes to send each first responder home with a prize totaling $50 or more with the top prize being valued at around $400.
We have received some wonderful prizes for the drawing including a 55" Flat Screen TV, 2- $100 Gift Cards to Menard's, a Free night stay at Fortune Bay and $50 to their Steakhouse Restaurant, Numero
